Enterprise programs where adoption and service matter

Here are three examples of how I lead complex delivery while improving processes, preparing support teams, and helping people adopt new systems and ways of working.

Enterprise AI adoption and Center of Excellence support

Texas Department of Transportation, Information Technology Division PMO, 2023 to August 2026

Context

A state transportation agency moved to adopt enterprise AI tools across a large, distributed workforce. Adoption depended on coordinated work across many groups rather than a single technology rollout, and employees needed practical guidance they could use in daily work.

Responsibility

I served as project manager for AI adoption workstreams inside the Information Technology Division Project Management Office, coordinating owners, blockers, risks, dependencies, governance, and status reporting.

Actions

  • Coordinated workstreams across change management, communications, security, data management, architecture, application delivery, licensing, and workforce enablement.
  • Built a SharePoint resource hub with role-based learning materials, quick guides, use case intake, and a glossary.
  • Supported adoption of enterprise AI tools, including ChatGPT Enterprise, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
  • Delivered lunch and learn sessions on AI use and on building SharePoint sites.

Results

  • An AI Center of Excellence resource hub in production with role-based learning paths, quick guides, prompt support, use case intake, and a glossary.
  • A chatbot built with Microsoft Copilot Studio so employees could get answers inside the resource hub.
  • Enterprise AI adoption workstreams coordinated under one governance and reporting structure.

$9.9M federally funded child welfare program

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, 2020 to 2023

Context

The Family First Prevention Services Act required the state child welfare system to exchange placement data and documents securely with other jurisdictions, which meant new integration work across state systems and federal partners.

Responsibility

I led the $9.9 million federally funded program as Senior IT Project Manager and IT Program Manager, including plans, schedules, risks and issues, action and decision logs, and coordination across state agencies, jurisdictions, partners, contractors, and project managers.

Actions

  • Integrated the state child welfare system with the National Electronic Interstate Compact Enterprise for secure interstate placement data and document exchange.
  • Built and managed Salesforce environments across development, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Integrated Salesforce environments with MuleSoft and Azure.
  • Delivered a customized Salesforce application for caregiver training, connected to the child welfare system and learning platform with secure Azure authentication.
  • Established a Scrum support model covering builds, enhancements, defects, maintenance, and support.

Results

  • Interstate placement data and document exchange integrated between the state child welfare system and the National Electronic Interstate Compact Enterprise.
  • Salesforce development, integration, and user acceptance testing environments delivered and maintained under a Scrum support model.
  • Program documentation, risk management, and cross-agency coordination maintained across the funded scope.

Merger and acquisition integration and large-scale deployment

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, 2005 to 2019 (contractor 2005 to 2015, employee 2016 to 2019)

Context

Two acquisitions, Harleysville Insurance Company and Jefferson National Insurance Company, had to be absorbed into an enterprise insurance and financial services environment while daily operations continued and legal, security, regulatory, and compliance standards were maintained.

Responsibility

I led integration programs across infrastructure, applications, data, service desk operations, workforce transition, and business processes. I managed project managers on infrastructure workstreams and led a portfolio of Nationwide Insurance projects representing more than $300 million in project budgets over my tenure, with teams of 10 to 250.

Actions

  • Directed discovery of systems, networks, Active Directory, infrastructure, data, data centers, mainframe, applications, products, support ownership, and delivery practices.
  • Built the integrated migration plan with project managers and business analysts, including milestones, timelines, dependencies, risks, action items, and decisions.
  • Integrated and migrated network, authentication, Active Directory domains and trusts, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data centers, mainframe data, SharePoint, human resources systems, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, instant messaging, VoIP, ServiceNow, and cloud data.
  • Consolidated acquired service desk operations, migrated ticketing data, trained staff, and transitioned application and infrastructure support ownership.
  • Coordinated acquired employee onboarding with Human Resources under confidentiality requirements.
  • Led Windows and Internet Explorer testing, remediation, and deployment across the enterprise asset base.

Results

  • Two acquired companies integrated end to end across infrastructure, applications, data, service desk operations, workforce onboarding, and business processes.
  • Approximately 43,000 assets deployed across 41,000 users and 32 departments, averaging about 8,000 asset deployments per month.
